Make a Rundown List

First and foremost, it may sound like an obvious step, but keeping a detailed list throughout the move will ensure that the thing you woke up and remembered at 2am, is documented. We also advise that you mark off every time you’ve done something on the list to avoid any confusion. Have a good plan of action before you start packing – unplanned packing can cause unnecessary stress, which if can be avoided in the move – should be at all costs!

Ensure not to overpack each box

Keeping each box relatively light, and not too cramped has two benefits. Number one, your stuff is more likely to remain intact and therefore less likely to encounter any breakages in the move. Number two, quite simply, ensuring that the boxes can be lifted with ease. This will avoid any unwanted injuries throughout the move – which should certainly be avoided!

With a hundred and one things to complete before moving, keeping on top of things is the key to a successful move. This includes ensuring that your TV, internet and telephone providers are all kept up to speed with moving dates. It’s also unlikely you will know who is moving into your new house – therefore using the Royal Mail’s post direct service will be incredibly beneficial for anything you’ve forgotten to change the address with.
